Synopsis: Aung Kyaw Naing and Ma Cho Lay are members of a fishing community struggling to make a living along a stretch of coastline near Thanbyuzayat in Mon State in Myanmar. Soon they will be faced with a curtailed fishing season as a result of new government legislation.
Biography: Cinematographer and director Khin Maung Kyaw is originally from Thanbyuzayat in Myanmar’s Mon State but is currently based in Yangon. Joining YFS in 2011 kick- started his career in documentary; he has since worked on over 15 documentaries as cinematographer, including Take Me Home by Shin Daewe which won Best Documentary Award at Wathann Film Festival in Yangon, Myanmar in 2013. “When the Boat Comes In” marks his directorial debut.
