Synopsis

In the Cusco region of Peru, the film travels through the snow-capped peaks and melting glaciers of the Andes and creates a visual journey by merging animation and real footage. Here, walking means listening to the changing geography, finding a connection with it and accepting the fragility and never-ending transformation. Through Andean beliefs, worldview, rituals, symbolic objects, and pilgrimage traditions, the film traces how collective memory reaches into the present. In an era of melting glaciers, it questions modern lifestyles and humanity’s relationship with the earth, offering the shared journey on foot as a path to rethink our place in the world.

Director Biography

Lucia Lambarri Barberis

Artist born in Cusco, Peru, whose practice is rooted in walking through the Andes. Her visual and conceptual work engages in dialogue with the landscape, seeking to reconcile the external with the internal world through a narrative that explores the connections between identity, body, land, water, and mountain, as well as flux and transformation. Her creative process encompasses a variety of disciplines, including drawing, sculpture, installation, site-specific interventions, photography, animation and filmmaking.
