Tide

Synopsis

Mustafa Simavlı kept alive a herd of goats stranded on an island near Karaburun for over two decades after their owners died. He has been loading fresh water onto his boat almost every single day since 1997. This short documentary witnesses his journey as he sets out across the water one last time, because of his illness.

Director Biography

Evrim İnci

Director born in Izmir in 1992. He graduated top of his class from the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema at Yaşar University in 2015. In 2019, he completed his MA in Film Design at Dokuz Eylül University with a thesis titled "Human Representation and Presentation in Nature Films". Between 2019 and 2023, he worked as an executive producer and director at TRT Documentary. After leading the Izmir Megapol Cultural Center in 2024, he now works as an independent filmmaker.
