At the age of nine, he began playing the French horn at the La Chaux-de-Fonds Conservatory. He was mentored by Robert Faller and Michael Hoeltzel during his studies. After playing for fifteen years in the orchestras of Zurich, Munich and Geneva, he has dedicated himself to teaching at the Geneva and Freiburg Universities of Music alongside his intensive and international pedagogical work and his career as a soloist. His countless recordings and DVDs as a soloist and chamber music artist are a testament to his decades of work.
Since the first day we began organising BIFED, we have paid great importance to the field of "documentary music and sound design" and wanted to honor it with an award. In 2024, after the inspiration and initiative of the dear Bruno Schneider, we began evaluating the films submitted according to this category as well. Although the jury for this category changes every year, Bruno Schneider always continues as our advisor.
