Faculty member at Galatasaray University and director of the Cultural Documentation Center.
He teaches visual anthropology, sensory ethnography, and documentary arts, while also producing independent documentaries alongside his academic work. His work explores the sensory dimensions of culture, everyday life, and audiovisual experience. Continuing his research on documentary cinema in Turkey, Özdemir is currently conducting an ethnographic field study on documentary film festivals as sites of cultural encounters. He is a member of BSB (the Association of Documentary Filmmakers in Turkey).
