Graduated from the Faculty of Law and Department of Radio, Television and Cinema at the Faculty of Communication at Marmara University. He completed his master's degree in human rights law and cinema. In this period, he studied the freedom of artistic expression and censorship in cinema. During his PhD, he participated in a TÜBİTAK project examining four film festivals in Türkiye (İstanbul, Ankara, Adana, Antalya). In his PhD study, he worked on the support and funding in cinema with a focus on Türkiye. His research areas include the economics of cinema, film festivals, the sociology of cinema, political cinema and documentary cinema. Currently, he is producing a feature-length documentary and contemplating how the field and theory can come together.
