Synopsis: This documentary represents the resistance of Aunty Şevkiye, who has kept her local seeds for 70 years, against hybrid or genetically modified seeds. The film includes episodes regarding Aunty Şevkiye’s life and her experiences with seeds along with the opinions of agricultural engineers and member of various associations who are closely interested in this issue. In this way, this documentary makes us a witness to the last samples of local seeds that resist extinction.
Director: Şevket Pehlivan graduated from the Department of Media and Communication at İzmir University of Economics. He learned the fundamentals of the sector in the live studio of the university. He focused on his documentary works in his senior year. “I Don’t Eat Someone’s Pepper” is his directorial debut. He is also the editor and producer of the film.
